Christmas in Oblivion

After an unplanned week’s vacation from comics (the term vacation being used very loosely) I realized that if my Christmas holiday comics were not posted on time then they would just seem kind of silly.

I’m hoping Chuck’s response to Shel is as funny to others as it was in my head.  Read what you like into it.  It’s irrelevant.

Disclaimer: The views expressed by Chuck do not necessarily (if ever) reflect the beliefs and/or views of the management and staff of A Little Scary (me).  Any similarities to people, places or religions that are or ever have been are purely coincidental and intended.  I plead the Wookie Defense.

=Comic Transcript===============
Shel: So do you celebrate Christmas in Oblivion?
Chuck: Some do – some don’t. It kind of depends on the origin of each being here.
Shel: Oh. I guess that makes sense.

Shel: So what about you?
Chuck: I don’t mind Christmas but the origins of my family and our history is much older than Christianity.
Shel: Wow. I didn’t realize that. Well, I’ll talk to you later.
Chuck: Bye.

Chuck: Dreidel – dreidel – dreidel, I made it out of clay.  Dreidel – dreidel – dreidel, then dreidel I shall play.

yeah chuck’s family is pretty damn old. I don’t even wanna think about it, it just gives me the creeps and makes me think of monsters.

*sighs* Okay, am I going to have to actually watch that South Park clip to derive the full benefit of this cartoon?

  3. cybrpunk Says:

Actually this one has nothing to do with South Park. I think my grasp of subtlety has passed the point of obscure and fallen into the dark realm of “huh?”

If you get this comic, please comment.

    I laughed and laughed…. *sigh*

  4. b_c Says:

Wait. *ponders* Are you saying Chuck– …wait. *ponders*

Well, if it’s what I think, all I can say is: nicely done.

And sorry about the South Park misunderstanding. I’d never even heard of their song until this past weekend, so it was like, fresh in my mind and therefore a distraction. Unfortunately.

I think b_c got it. Hehe.
The joke is that it has nothing to do with the “Mythos” you would expect for Chuck.

  6. Kate Says:

I totally got the joke. The idea that Chuck is Jewish is just freakin’ FABULOUS.
